In a recent video post where Bruce Irons, Joel Parkinson, and Lyndie Irons take a nostalgic tour of Andy Irons’ garage, Lyndie stops at a particular poster of Andy backdooring a shifty, evil-looking peak Sunset Beach.

At the time of the capture, Ellis was a freelance shooter covering the Rip Curl Cup, looking for a unique angle on the action. “This was during the Rip Curl Cup at Sunset Beach, which Andy won, along with the World Title that year.

Over the years, every time I went on a trip with Andy or saw him at a contest, he’d always bring that photo up and tell me that he loved it so much.
